Same day as the butt plate- found a small four sided star

The first signal I dug along the trenches outside Winchester was a small fragile brass star. It’s four sided. My friend and I thought it was some kind of hat pin. Showed it to another friend today , and he promptly showed me a picture of what it used to look like... It’s an early variety of corps badge. 19 th corps! Now I need to get someone to flatten it so I can mount it.
