Sand scoop recommendations

I have a SS Scoopal, but I keep have to hammer the edge back into shape, after each outing.
I’m detecting in the upper Chesapeake, most areas the bottom is clay and clam shells.
I was looking at the CKG pro SS scoop Product Dimensions - 9.98 x 11 x 5 inches
Any others I should look at?

If you are dealing with clay and shell just curious why you don't use a shovel? If you are doing both dry beach sand then wet clay/shell you might consider going Titanium if your wallet can afford them.

In most cases I’m waste/ chest deep in mud colored water, not sure if a shovel would work in this situation.
I was looking into titanium, but I need to find a few hold rings first, to pay for it😁
Just had my buddy weld some reinforcing plates on my Scoopal.
Will see it’ll it holds up, still looking for another larger scoop.

The scoop you are using appears by the pick , to be thinner gage, Xtreme scoops has a ten-year warranty , try them ! made out of 316 SS !

Currently, Xtreme Titanium is the best, Xtreme stainless 2nd best. Motley makes a fairly decent scoop for the price also.

In most cases I’m waste/ chest deep in mud colored water, not sure if a shovel would work in this situation.
I was looking into titanium, but I need to find a few hold rings first, to pay for it😁
Just had my buddy weld some reinforcing plates on my Scoopal.
Will see it’ll it holds up, still looking for another larger scoop.

Didn't take into account your wading. Makes sense.

This is what I use in the bay. 720 Steath SS, and Extreme Titanium, and Sito which I got for the grandson.

I have noticed the titanium and starting to show some wear on the tip, and I know of a few others who use it often have wore the tips down to where its a inverted worn tip, I do know the Gig Master has wore one down so bad he had a new tip welded on the front lip. I love the weight but I have to say SS is tougher and longer lasting. My 720 I have is 8 years old and shows no sign of wear, the Titanium is less then a year old. Now if you want a tough heavy scoop get a Sito.. the SS is almost twice as thick as chucks 720.. and the extreme.

And it was hard to fork out 650 for the titanium, was it worth it? At this point Im undecided.

But , your going to pay for Titanium, that is why I stick to SS , also the little extra weight, you get a larger bite of sand ! Joe the Sito scoop ? , how are the welds holding up , wow ,-you broke down & bought an Xtreme titanium, how is it holding up ?

My Titanium is showing some wear, nothing like a few of my friends but mine is less then a year old. The 720, Nada wear.
And your right, the weight is a little different but for the money it is debatable. Now if I had to carry a scoop on my shoulder on the wet & dry sand all day, it might be worth the extra.......... for the water where I hunt and weight is not a major factor.. SS is the way to go.

The Sito I got cheap (75) , used for the Grandson to use if he decides to go. Its built like a tank.. and heavy.

Interesting.....my experience is just the opposite. I have a Stealth 720, 920, and an Xtreme titanium. My 720 and 920 have both lost 2-3" off the tip, have both had extensions welded on to replace the worn off metal, and both have had numerous fatigue cracks welded too. My Titanium is about 3 years old now and has lost maybe 1/4". no cracks anywhere.

Stealth SS, Extreme and CKG.
All well-made scoops however, I like the extreme titanium! IMO it is the best!

I can completely understand when it comes to budgeting however, when they say you get what you pay for the extreme titanium, the same is true!
CKG’s are good scoops and priced on the lower end. Also, you might consider how often you hunt if you hunt for hours per day. It’s incredibly durable no problems with the travel handle at all! I would be surprised if I were to buy another sand scoop ever again!🏴‍☠️

Keep the one you have and take it to a welder to T.I.G. weld a lip on it to reinforce along the "V" edge .

Sito scoop , I don't like the screw hole in the gooseneck for lock down , reminds me of Stavr M-9 that I sold , I will stick with the Stealth & Xtreme SS scoops .

I got real lucky last year and found a guy selling his extreme scoop for $150.00. It's been a great scoop.

Years ago, a guy named Chuck made them. He retired and sold the business which went through a couple of hands until it died. I understand that Chuck decided to take up the challenge again and is having new scoops made in Brazil. I don't know if they are currently for sale or not, nor anything about quality.
