Fathers day was the third time that I have gotten to take my Shark swimming. We swam and had fun in the sun for about four hours. The two previous occasions I was limitted to about 2 hours per trip in the water and on these trips I was a bobby pin and rusty nail collecting fool. The nails likely came from piers destroyed by Hurricane IKE a few years back. Back to Fathers Day. I went to a different beach, and I am still not sure what I did wrong, but for the first hour or so in the water there were no targets. I could get a signal off my scoop though. Took a break and threw a couple of items into the dry sand and located them fine. Two minutes into my water search I found a small 14K ring with a Dolphin (Porpoise?). The ring was fairly deep, maybe 6"-10". Rest of the time I was collecting bobby pins, bottle caps and sunglasses.
