Sandman how would rate CZ-21 compared to Minelab Excalibur????

Both are like apples and oranges to each other. I like eating both. The CZ-21 is just a CZ-20 with a improved pinpoint button and different battery door, though I don't know what was wrong with the old door. With the CZ-21 you have two output frequencies and three tones with a large target response sound too. The unit is simple to operate and less confusing to newbies than the operation of the Excal with it's many different tones. One a disc setting of 0, you get three tones, Low for iron, Mid for nickels, pull tabs and rings, High for larger rings and coins. Note that some targets can fit into any of the tones at the same time, but it can be fairly accurate. The CZ21 will sound off on hot rocks as do many other detectors, except the Excal. I never have dug a hot rock with the Excal or Sov GT. The biggest advantage of the CZ-21 is the ability to hunt and only dig the MID tones for improving chances of retrieving a gold ring, and stop wasting valuable time retrieving hair pins and coins. More time spent sweeping for MID targets means more gold rings in the pouch at the end of the day. Course you give up the chance of finding a Rolex this way......
The Excal has an advantage also in that it will only sound off on large iron objects while ignoring the ton of regular pieces of iron we find on the beaches and still give a good response to items we want. It can also respond to a gold ring while at the same time ignoring a piece of iron on top. Other detectors could disc out the iron and the gold ring too. Both detectors are waterproof to 200 feet for diving and built like tanks as all top of the line detectors should be.
Disadvantages to the Fisher is the company now itself. Go to the Fisher website and you will find no info on the CZ-21. Many that want repairs to the old CZ-20 find any repairs are very expensive from First Texas, the company that now owns Fisher. I get emails from others that are having trouble with repair at Fisher and think I have some pull there. I don't, if I did I would get my CZ-20 tuned up.

Thanks Sandman for your awesome knowledge I really appreciate all of your insights and know how!! I really appreciate you helping me this past year with everything and I hope to pick the right detector for my area since there are so many to chose from these days!! Much Aloha to you!!

Thank you, Sandman. I really like that part about being able to search and dig in the mid-range only. (I had a Minelab, didn't care for it), but the CZ21 sounds pretty cool. Probably pretty pricey, too.
