Hey Sandman if you don't want to answer my posts you don't need too! The reason for having so many asking questions pertaining to the Excalibur is that this machine is $1000 dollars which is alot of money to me!! I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons for purchasing such a unit. And that is the reason for asking these questions!! I would like to get another machine and there are so many to choose from these days with the Infinium now on the market and a soon to be Whites new PI. I like to hear what everyone has to say about these detectors and I really appreciate all of your input but don't feel obligated to post or throw in your 2 cents if you don't want to. I have been contimplating for so long with a new purchase of an underwater metal detector and that is why I seem to post the same questions. I want to make the right decision when it comes to buying another detector because I don't have tons of money to just blow. So in the future if you see my posts and they look the same you don't need to ad another comment unless you want to share your knowledge!!! Buy the excal you won't be sorry ,plus they hold there value .. Easy learning curve . I owned whites PI I never dug so much crapola in my life .The PI go's deep ,, but enough of the hair pins already . I sold the thing after 2 days at the beach ,, I bought the excal 1000 and never looked back.. I'm still learning so I can't get techie with ya . But all I know is that it hunts BIG time,, Rings , silver , gold chains .No problem getting these tickets ,,, Hope this helps ,, good luck Guzz1

Don't know if the EXCAL is a good choice for your area??

I heard the EXCAL did not handle the type of sand/minerals you have in the Islands there...this was why most guys used PI PRO'S ect there...I would check around...hate to spend $1,000++ dollars on a detector not suited for your area!! Good luck in your search!!

I'M sorry didn't mean to give wrong info but didn't realize where you where located till after I posted . I would check out the black sand Issue for sure before you go out and buy an excal , Good luck in your search,, Guzz1

Hey Makahaman,
Aloha, most folks are very loyal to the particular detector they use. When you come into the wrong section of the forum and start a flurry of threads asking if one machine is better than the other, someone is going to get upset.

There is a section on this forum called "Detector Reviews-By Owners". That is where you should be asking all your questions about the individual machines. The folks that go there can answer all those questions for you. They even have a head-head section for putting machines up against each other. You could also speak to the sponsors of the site and the different manufacturers for the technical info.

The beach section is for folks who want to chill out, shoot the breeze, complain about the spouse, see some finds, and have a few laughs, all of which you are welcome to chime in on.

Good Luck hunting for the new machine, it's a tough decision as each machine has it's place and there is no real all around detector........except mine, the Fisher 1280X

Makahaman, I am sorry if you got upset, but I still remember all the emails and PM's from you about the Excal and the other PI's and then you run a bunch of posts asking the same questions. As I told you in a PM a few months ago, you can read all about the field tests and they will tell you more than you need to know except maybe where to find the extra money to buy the higher end detectors.
