After a busy week, of beautiful sunshine, we managed to get out today!!

I found this broken (possibly) Roman ring .. cant work out the inscription.. but super excited as found in a field we havent found anything Roman in so far! Then a superb broken buckle, some more buckles, a wing nut.. but seems chunky nd old? 2 small lead weights, 2 pistol shots, a fancy button lots of buttons.. and 2 toasted pre dec coins xx

We have had a really warm sunny week.. so hoping it stays as we have the week off and a lot of ground to cover 😆 xx

Its a 'crown over HP' circa 16th C Ring, the HP is retro like a seal ring. ( not a 100% sure about the P) You should be able to narrow your research.

The Inlet - Hammered & ROMAN SILVER...

This is probably our last day this year, so picked a change of scenery. This is another huge field close to the others we have been doing & it too had a deep 12" + plough. We explored this huge field & the only good area is just over 1 acre which is like an inlet towards the nearby Village...

Above was the last time we did half of the inlet. It was the better half & this field has only just come to the top of the list, because it was the blank half that we just needed to confirm after the deep plough. (might have brought stuff up) We now know where not to bother in the future after doing nearly 4 man hours with just 1 thimble & towards the end of the 2nd hour a chunky silver ring. At first I thought the ring might be 16-17th C, but after researched the Crowned I, it could be 15-16th C. I'll let...
