Saxon Gaming Piece Field - Day 10...

[CRUSADER]

Today it was so hot I saw my first Ice Cream Van of the year!
We spent 4 hours gridding on from where we left off & did pretty well again;

7 Scrappies
Broken Roman Silver Denarius AD198
2 bits of Roman Brooch
2 18th C Military Buttons - both shot!
Buckles
17th C Bronze Ring
Roman Bracelet Frag
Dads star find - Roman Awl (leather working tool) - but its the best one I have seen. I checked both databases & only 3 are 'similar' but Dads is by far the best with added detailing!

Sadly all that is visible is a line around the edge.

[vhakra]

That's pretty sweet!

[CRUSADER]

Cheers everyone, its a good haul for this time of year.

The silver is a nice hit, but the awl wins it for me, it's one sweet find.

It's not all about the money, but for me it's all about the rarity. So for C'Dad to get this, its a mega hit!
