Saxon Gaming Piece Field - Day 8...Whazit?

[CRUSADER]

We only spent 2 hour 15 minutes on the field but more importantly we parked up next to 2 guys finishing their day rabbit hunting. Spoke with them for awhile about what we did & then got offered another farm. Its mostly grass, so not our fav, but will give 1 field a go next weekend.

Is the item I circled in red a gun part?

[Iron Patch]

I always thought that was something like an Enfield Rifle trigger part, or some sort of 19th century gun something or other. Have found several.

Until I joined the forum it might of been something I chucked in the junk bucket. Now, I think it maybe gun part, so will keep it because I get so few.

No moving parts, & looks to be made of brass.

Looks like it was mounted into something and fixed with a nail/screw... Congrats on the silver!
