I agree with AntMike and Tdog, appears to be debitage, good news is it means a good chance you will find something in that area.

It may be funny to start off by putting down my own idea but I’d probably go with the experience above they know their stuff lol…. but I don’t think it’s just a waste flake, I see removals on Both sides which to me says they at least came back and worked on it some more, coulda been good enough for a quick cutter or something.
