So I read an article the other day about scrip. scrip was a type of currency used to pay the coal mine workers. At the end of the week, the workers would recieve this scrip instead of money for a weeks pay. The workers could then go to the stores that were owned by the coal mine and use this scrip to get food, clothing, and other necesities. Scrip is rare and very hard to find, due to the fact most of it was used in west virginia and kentucky I believe. Has anyone ever find any of this? If so I would love to see some pics!!
