Ever look at something and then every pop up ad is something to do with the item one was looking at to buy, or just an inquiry. It seems that the net has a way of storing everything we look at for marketing purposes. I usually just Google it using chrome or whatever is the easiest.
Though reading about another search engine that never tracks a persons online presence when searching for things and I'm wondering what others use and have you heard of this one?

I've used DDG, but find it doesn't return the quality that IxQuick/StartPage does, at least for my searches.

track me all you want
I do wonder sometimes though at the odd ad
I have never typed in russian mail order brides

I go in regularly and kill my history and the cookies. it seems that once I kill them they no longer have history of my searches, thus I no longer see ads for items I have searched for in the recent past.

start with deleting your cookies
Start with not allowing them except on personally trusted sites.

Know also that many providers assign you a unique IP and advertisers use this against you. Sadly, the days of rolling IPs are pretty much gone.

Not to say that I'm not tracked, but I'm never bothered with pop-us with Adblock Plus.

ABP, UBlock Origin, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, etc...

Google/chrome is what i have.

That and several pending updates which i refuse.

If they are tracking me, it must really be a boring day where ever they are.

I have taken out my phone battery in stores where adds start popping up on my phone.

That's really something that they know when you're in store.

I never get ads on my flip phone

Read what you agree to sometime on your Ap agreement. Prepare to be shocked.

For starters Google is the #1 data mining company on the planet, followed by Facebook and the NSA. Personally I avoid them at all costs, including not having a Facebook account at all, and not using Gmail.

I never kept a diary and I'm not going to voluntarily publish one. I have no desire to be a Kardashian, or internet famous. I like my privacy. Beyond that you need to scour your settings on your phone to limit or block ad tracking. You'll never truly be able to block it all but you can slow some of it down, to a point. Good luck.

This may help. Ad Blocker also has a "block element" feature....for those pesky adds that get through Ad Blockers first layer of defense.

Ya, or even just in the parking lot, the ads will start popping up.

So people if you think you might be about to locate "the big one"....don't bring all the eletronics and car.

My kids decided i needed an upgraded phone when i lost my flip phone, so now i have one that can probably tell them where i am and what i'm doing, and maybe what i'm thinking.

Kinda hard to get away from all electronic wizardry surveillance, even when not carrying a phone.

yeah, I know there is a satellite dedicated to my location

Kills your service, but its easy to build a small Faraday Cage for a snoopy phone if you are so motivated.

That would be a good thing to know when one of us finds the big one.

For now they can just follow me around, leave the rest of you alone and scratch their heads trying to figure out what i'm doing.
That, i don't even know!

The Flashlight App is one of the worse things anyone can put on their phone. Cell phone employees are telling the customers to take it off and not to put the app on the phones.
