Season 5

That one lady who stated that the lead cross was the find of the century was super annoying. If they had told her the Knight's Templars crapped all over the prison walls she'd say "oh wowww, that is unbelievable. This has got to be the single greatest discovery in human history!" Also, was the show insinuating that the shape of the cross originated from the Phoenician goddess, even though the narrator kept saying the goddess had a triangular bottom shape? So basically the Christian cross had been around for over 1,000 years when the Templars came along, but they decided to depict the Phoenician goddess on the prison walls instead?! Thank goodness the rest of the show concentrated more on the actual digging. It'll be interesting to find out the dating on that wooden stake found in the swamp.

A triangular bottom. COULD IT BE A FAT ASS?

The show has about run it's course. If they go on maybe one more season and that's it. The guy who found treasure I would say is the black dude who became rich in his days..I would say he found the hidden box.

They could fill next season with exploration of everything except the money pit. Although I'm still curious about the metal in the wall in one of the dive holes that a diver detected - I wonder if that hole is still accessible?

If the black dude found the treasure, he would have needed to convert it to wealth: for example if it was gold coins he would have needed to convert it to something negotiable for land or whatever else he bought. The buyer would have noted such a sale from such a large quantity of wealth - but possibly didn't talk about it if they also made a large sum from the transaction.

Well said.. Where do they find these wackoos.. Nothing was shown to support that ladies loony comments. Well that has confirmed to me the validity of the maps she supplied...

It is interesting the stake. Not that it seems treasure related. J.Steeles naval stores theory would also explain it (as I am sure there are multiple other non treasure explanations). I would love to know more of the history of the island so am interested in what is found.

Who would of guessed the treasure hiders hid there treasure in an old dump site... Who would look there? It is a shame the gold rotted away but the chest hinges survived...

I do wonder what smashed there teeth. One would guess metal (not that I know anything about drilling) so I suppose at that depth previous searchers rubbish is the most likely explanation.

3 episodes left. We know they find something.. it is really looking like they are not going to show us until last episode... My wager will be what they find is not treasure....

Not sure if their permits will allow it but they need to be able to drain the swamp areas and then skim off 3'-5' of sludge and growth and then start doing their metal detecting and sonar type stuff... They can't effectively seach with how they were doing it last night. Too many areas will be missed and if anything is there of value it won't be sitting on top of years of growth...

Wait till next week ... another History channel expert or two will weigh in , one is also featured on Ancient Aliens . (The late Phillip Coppens' wife) They are under contract to History/Prometheus so they will trot them in when they feel it's necessary and probably pay them by the word count used in their description ......

The buried alien ship, duh LOL :)

On another note: losing that many teeth on their caisson and being that worn down in 75 feet indicates a couple of bad scenarios . 1. They didn't change the teeth before they started the new hole. the teeth were very worn down when they started . 2 No one checked the teeth brackets for tightness (their bolts backed out) , the teeth worked themselves loose and fell out.

Is that Kathleen McGowan? The woman who, I'm not kidding, claims to be a descendant of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. If she were any closer to the fringe she'd be off the edge . . . instead of just off her rocker.

that test they did just a few shows back, when they dropped that devise to see what elements were down there, only one red marker which would indicate metal, I was quite surprised out of all those holes they tested only looked to be one indicating metal ?!

Must have missed that, didn't know they started a new hole already...

I don't know how they would make much progress sloughing around in that swamp without completely draining it and waiting for it to get fairly dry...

Going by the Irving statements, they seemed to know that they contacted something that wasn't stone. Confirmed by the fact that the hammer grab couldn't budge it until they pummeled it with the chisel. There could have been some time shifting and splicing for dramatic effects, but as shown it might have jammed something tightly enough to blow the hydraulic O Ring seal.

All 4 of the drill holes that surround the DMT caisson only showed metal at 150' according to the dual induction metal detector that was dropped down the 6" pvc casings., I believe that was the reasoning for drilling the new caisson in that particular spot. Ive drilled 44" diameter secant piles for deep foundations and support of excavations and never encountered anything that could really stop the caisson if it had sharp teeth on it in soft ground. Dull teeth will cause the oscillator to increase pressure if on an obstruction ( boulder on one side) . It will also skew the caisson out of plumb also increasing the hydraulic pressures on the oscillator

In previous years, filming for subsequent seasons has started in the following spring (after the long winter season). However, with only 3 episodes remaining for Season 5, the reported news from October 2017 about divers being used at the money pit area, will likely not make into this season's footage. Are they really going to wait until next November to show happened over a year earlier, or are we going to get a Season 5a this Summer?

Yes its her ..... Id like to see her DNA chain ... Ancestry.com probably blew a gasket when they worked that one up .....

Soon the show will be renamed, "Holes"....oh wait.....wasn't there already a movie with that name?

how many feet did they get this newest hole down before the show ended, I guess this newest one won't be named after the boy that died last year ?

Bring in J. Puzzler to save the season. :tongue3:

They did not start a new hole yet. They are going to do the camera first.
