Greetings fellow T-Neters. It has been a long winter and with the thaw I was able to get out and hunt a couple of farm fields. I pounded my favorite bean field again yesterday using less discrimination than usual and found the dime and lots of square nails. Today I tried a new spot in a corn field and found the flat gilt button.
It sure feels good to get out and do some serious dirt fishing again. :icon_sunny:
Best luck to all, Merf

Welcome back Merf!!! You come back in style too. Very nice coin. Congrats to you.
Glad to see you starting back up where you left off at the end of the season last year.
Watch out for that Nick Pappagiorgio character. He's been spotted in your area looking for Chuck E Cheese tokens. I think I see him in your picture if you look real close. I'd know the rat outfit anywhere!!! :D

Merf! You dog. Very Sweet. :laughing7: Man, it really makes me want to get out. Seeing that shovel and the vast open field..... I know I can count on you to post some good stuff. Hopefully, I can get some good stuff soon too. :)

You can say that again. We had another 10 inches of snow last Friday but fortunately most has melted now. Excellent dime! This encourages me to keep checking those farm fields. WTG

Thanks to all for looking and the kind words.
Hope this new snow melts quick. Dang this weather.

Man I wanna find one of those seated raschals. WTG merf. I dig the old buttons too. That one's what around 1820-30's ? Most of the time the shank is broke off. It's very cool to be able to go out an hit a giant area like the one pictured and find such small cool targets. Look's like some interesting relics in the pile as well.

Thanks Kirk--Searching on the net I found this at www.oldcopper.org

Williams, 1. or mo (John) St. Martin’s Lane. London. 179 1-1800.

Williams, Wm Backmark found on top quality, late 18th and early 19th century livery and uniform buttons

I rhink you are right---1800 to 1820
