Sharing some finds from this afternoon. A quick scouting hunt at my town’s history center, AKA a 15 acre gentleman farm from 1849. Hopefully this is hunt 1 of many.

My first Seated Dime in almost a year.

Awesome to see big green’ness deep down. This was one of those squeaky 31-32 signals, definitely could have been rusty iron. Pic with other cents in the yard.

This piece popped out near the front of the home. Any ideas?

Silver washed Eagle-I CW button was a
surprise.

And a very small silver case pocket knife. Any ideas on age of this?

Really nice finds there! Especially the Seated! I don't want to forget the LC and the 3 center. All great coins. That button is a really nice one too! Those silver pocket knife pieces ("scales"?) look exactly like a piece I found awhile back. I never knew what it was but it looked like those. I'm going to try to find it and see it that's what it is. I always thought it was a piece of a hair clip or something. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, really nice! That piece of interest could also be a doorbell if it has some depth to it. I love the coins!!!

Oh man what a sweet looking permission you have there my friend! :occasion14:
Congrats on all of those silver & copper finds.

I find this piece really interesting, maybe re-post it here for ideas... What Is It?
I'm thinking possible furniture decoration. :icon_scratch:

Thx Steve! Let me know if you can make anything out of the backmark.

If it were mine, I'd take a light brass wire brush to it. :laughing7:

Tried to clean it up a bit for you Thad... TheCannonballGuy would know what it is.

Thx! The What’s It group ID’d as a “bill spike”. The pointy rod rusted away. I’m not 100% sure, but I think they “nailed it”.

Thx! I think it is “Horstmann Bro’s & Co” but can’t make out the first word. I tried the aluminum foil method a bit to clean it up a bit for my post pics, just don’t want to cut through the plating.

Holymoly thats alot of cool finds there. If I found that much on my hunts I would hunt 7 days a week

That is like 6 months worth of bucket listers for me! Seated dime, large cent, 3 cent nickel, Civil War infantry button. Nice!!

Nice looking finds.

That three cent nickle held up well.
