I too keep my coils on their own shafts, the shafts only cost a few bucks. Why not?

By far the easiest way to change coils on the go. I've got all mine set up that way.

+6! Must be the way to go! And you don't have to remove your Ty-raps or tape each time if you have the first few inches attached straight up the shaft with multiple rods.
