I tried a new map overlay on a site I pounded last year. The new overlay showed a dot in a section of the woods I did not hit before. Immediately found a spoon.
This is usually a good sign. Then 3 signals in the flat button range all within a 3' square.
They came out really caked with dirt, so I was surprised that they cleaned up.
The big piece is stamped and has a Pat date of 1896, always cool to see an old date.
Did a little research and thought D Of A must be Department of Agriculture as this was found on a lost farm, but it's actually "Daughters of America".
I can see where there were pins that attached this to a ribbon from a web search.
Also found a "peddlers license" from 1910.
Here's the lunch time handful.
If anyone has any insight into the D of A that would be awesome.
