Hello fellow treasure hunters, this item was found around a very small cellar hole along with an 1850s large cent, I believe the structure was used for only a decade. What I can tell is there is an eagle on top holding a torch and something else. Looks like it threaded onto something, if anyone has a clue let me know. Should be same age as the coin/button I found, nothing else was near that cellar.

What type of material is it made of? Ferrous or nonferrous?

Nonferrous, i suspect it is brass or a mix of something

Definitely an adornment/badge of some type. almost looks military or at least patriotic.
