I have contacted my senators. This is a bunch of crap and I can think of a couple dozen programs or projects that they can cut funding to and save a heck of a lot more money than what they are doing to us vets. What the government needs is a few dozen proficiency experts and go through the different branches of the government and figure out what and who needs to be cut.

Sen John McCain said that he "trusted" the Dem liberals voting FOR this bill in that they told him, promised him, they would review it in another year to two to change it back for the veterans and what is passed in this bill wouldn't go into effect for one year anyway. THAT'S DISGUSTING!! I think McCain has lost his mind! Never have liked him that much anyway but this is beyond belief to me! It doesn't surprise me with this Administration though!

You're having to apologise nearly every day now for posting before checking things out and then having to retract your comments. While I do commend you for admitting your mistakes maybe a change in habits is called for ? I suspect it's because you honestly believe that nearly all of us are full of crap so you assume that whatever we post must surely be wrong. Pretty arrogant on your part don't ya think ? "They" didn't get themselves OUT..... taxpayer dollars bailed them out. And they got the money because the UAW poured money into the election (again). The U.S. Govt. just sold the last of their holding stocks. Taxpayers were out 10 billion at the end of "deal". Whatever happened to free enterprise. Why did MY MONEY HAVE TO GO TO HELP GM"S / UAW'S POUR BUSINESS DECISIONS? And why should government get their nose into private businesses affairs and decide who "gets help" and who doesn't! "And we're all much better off that they got out of it." Who's... we're all?

But to do this for GM /UAW folks and then cut the pensions for veterans is embarrassing to me as a U.S. citizen.

Taxpayers lost on GM, gained in other areas (AIG) and, when the shooting stops and the smoke clears, came out neutral to ahead on the various TARP programs.

What is Federal Government doing poking their noses into ANY private enterprise... EVER!!! The Federal Govt.'s job is to collect taxes from the states and protect the United States within. The Govt.'s roll has gotten way to big.... we don't need Gov't giving money to it's citizens.... meaning taking from some and giving to others. Free enterprise should rule... period. The rich get richer... period. Anybody, and I mean anybody can succeed if they want to and/or are smart enough to. I do not and will NEVER begrudge those who succeed and/or support those who don't for unlimited extended periods of time. Ever hear of Darwin? And as harsh as it may sound that goes for every man, women and their children. Our entire life is based on choices. Socialism, Liberal and non-conservative attitudes promote this ongoing trend. States and the local Govt. take care of it's citizens.... NOT THE FEDERAL GOVT. That's why we have boundaries and different rules when crossing them.... IT's why we left ENGLAND!
