Senior Project

Hello everyone, my name is Jack, and this is my first post on TNET. My school requires that every student do a senior project before they graduate, and I have always been fascinated with the idea of treasure hunting. I live in PA, but would like to travel somewhere else to attempt to find something, or just have the experience. I did some research and saw that Roatan in Honduras has some great diving, but looking at the airfare and being a jobless 18 year old I don't have those kinds of funds. That being said i think the flight and food would be just about all of my expenses. Does anyone know where a good spot to try would be, a particular island in the Bahamas, or somewhere off Florida? I am more interested in diving, but would be excited just to try anything. If anyone has any information, or perhaps a website or person to contact to help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Those were the days.

Different types of treasure out there; some
consider just putting together a bit of history
on an area as important and a treasure; digging
up something long forgotten or not well know.

Ever think of research on something that would
be in your home state, or close ?

Know its not much help, just a thought.

The kids senior project at the high school here are to be beneficial to the whole community or other charitable causes. I guess your school is different.

You might try writing to some of the government agencies that does archiological work or oceanography and see if they need "gophers" or interns to assist them. Even Peace Corps may have something worth your interest. There are opportunities out there but often you have to work your way into what you really want to do. My advice is to get into college and study some subjects that goes along with what your interests are. You will meet many good contact over the years in your studies and you will find out for sure if something along the lines of your interest is what you really want. You can never go wrong with getting a good education. You can easily find enough to write a school paper or project on the subject of treasure hunting from a good library. You will not have the time or experience necessary to write from first hand experience at this time. Monty
