September Totals: Silverface

Since September was probably my best CRHing month I've ever had I thought I would try and put together a list of my total finds for the month. I don't keep a detailed log of my finds and searches like a lot of you do so I had to get most of these figures from previous posts I've made over the past month. I'm probably at least a few 40% silver halves (and maybe even a couple of '64 Kennedy's) short in my totals list because I often search so many banks throughout the week looking for loose and cwr's and I don't keep figures of all my small finds.

Also of note is that I only searched 2 half boxes (only found a total of 9 40%ers from both of those), one $500 brinks half bag (complete skunk) and approx. $500 or so in loose and cwr halves - which is where I had the majority of my half dollar finds and all of my WL, BF & '64 Kennedy finds. I had a great cwr half dollar score at the beginning of the month which accounts for most of my great results from searching such a small $ amount of halves and I know that I probably won't get such good results as this in the future unless I increase my volume - which I'm planning to do.

Halves (from only about $2,000 or so searched):

24 WL's ('35 - '46S)

40 BF's ('51 - '63D)

9 (at least - maybe a couple more) '64 Kennedy's

38 (at least - probably a few more) '65 - '69 Kennedy's

2 '76S 40% silver Kennedy's (I believe both are silver but I won't be 100% certain till I'm able to weigh them)

+ 2 rolls of BU 2009 US Mint wrapped halves (one P & one D)

& 1 double sided reverse half dollar coin

Dimes: I didn't really search any this month but I did find a '50D Rosie in my change from a restaurant yesterday (9/30) - which is more silver than I found in my entire last box of dimes.

Nickels: at least 2 silver + 5 nice full date buffaloes

Cents (from 4 boxes searched): 80 wheats including a '19, '25, (2) '27, '38S (mintage 15,180,000) & a '18 I got in my change from McD's a couple of weeks ago (though I know that one's not really a CRHing find)

Good Job, keep it up you are doing great. I believe your double sided half is a magician's coin, it will most likely open up if you can drop it on a hard surface just right, some of them have a large english penny inside, I found one but the coin was not in mine. Thanks Dennis. When I found that double sided coin a few weeks ago in a half box and posted my results from that box some else posted and said it was probably a just trick double sided coin. I haven't been able to get it open and I think maybe it's not supposed to. I found my first magicians coin (1974 half) a couple of months ago and that coin does open up and has ONE PENNY 1967 inscribed inside. Maybe this double sided coin is just a different type of magicians trick coin that doesn't open up but is just supposed to always show tails when you flip it.
