Shallow water at night?

Low tides lately are hitting right at sunset... I'm a water person but a little nervous about wading in waist deep water at night with a shiny metal scoop. To me it seems like a bad idea.

Do any of you hunt waist deep in the dark?

Sharks like things in the water. If you're in the water, a shark likes you. Other things will spite you. Try stepping on a ray sometime. It's not pretty.

Heading out for the low tonight with scoop, Xcal and waterproof flashlight in hand. I like to hunt waist to chest deep (depending on surf) up to an hour or more after sunset......or, till I start to feel like bait.
