I went out yesterday in my kayak on the James River in Virginia, primarily to look for indian artifacts. No luck there but I did stop at a beach where I had found nice fossils in the past. Laying on the beach was a beautiful P. benedeni. I had found broke pieces before so knew it was possible to find a whole one. Pic does not do this tooth justice. Root and blade are greatcondition, tip is sharp, colors very nice, and it is 2.5 inches long. Still carrying this one around in my pocket!

Super find! Congrats. On that one!

In the James? Serious? Awesome. I'm not alone in finding shark's teeth in undocumented places! (I thought I was very very cool for finding some in a stream/tributary, pretty much in the woods. Great tooth you have there- congrats!
