Shawnee silver mine.........?

In several books that I've read there is references to a secret mine known to the Shawnee Nation. They were known to have an abundance of worked silver ornaments. Do any of you have any information of this existence, or any stories to add to the legend? Thanks.

Shawnee Nation out of Ohio was who J. Swift "ran into"; thus Swift's Silver Mines...
