🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Sheath or Tube With Scaled Pattern

Looks like maybe a small knife sheath or some kind of tube that was crushed almost flat. Open at top and bottom. 3 inches long and 1 inch wide in its current form.

Maybe the "scaled" design is a clue?
