Wow, I was just in Leadville today. I took a jackleg we fixed up for the Leadville Boom Days Mining competition. After that I went up to a location of a small Mine that my guy in Nucla said called to quote a few things. Last anyone called for anything at that mine was decades ago. I took this picture up there looking towards Mosquito pass.
That's awesome, It's sure amazing up there. One of the locals here brought me some mining carts to hopefully sell. Said he bought them for scrap from a Leadville mine. I love having them on my property. Side dumpers.
 

Got out for a few this weekend. Was definitely hitting some older areas!! Can't wait to get back!! So how would you clean the shield nickel??? Seems like it has some detail. I think the French coin is a Napoleon 3 Emperor. It must date in the 1850's. I can't read it. Hope you all have some good permissions lined up!!! Happy hunting!
