Hello All,

Here are the highlights of the two weeks of diggin after the Spring thaw (when I was away from the forum), plus the highlights from the muddy hunt day before yesterday...

First off, here's Rodeo Recon at an oddly-situated housesite we found near a spring.

A Civil War Eagle Button I dug day before yesterday:

Powder Flask Spout dug the same hunt by Rodeo Recon:

And the rest of the flask ;D (The other side was in pieces, but will still clean up pretty well for display):

I "dug" an 1868 Shield Nickel. (But really it just beeped at me from where it was laying right on top of the ground in a bean field ):

And Rodeo dug what looks like an 1867 Shield. (The front was not incredible in terms of detail)

A nice victorian brooch with almost all of the gilding left, dug by me:

Even though the photo I took isn't great, this is one of my nicest V nickels:

Some more of Rodeo's finds, including an 1867 IH:

And a few more of my finds from a Solo hunt:

Re: A Post of Finds to Catch Everyone Up...

Some more site scenery. It was just above freezing, but since it was sunny it was bearable:

We hit an early site that day, and were well rewarded :)

2.webp

Yet ANOTHER shield nickel:

I got a signal I *knew* would be a coin, and out rolls a BEAUTIFUL 1831 Large Cent:

And plenty of great, early buttons. (Only my share of the finds are pictured next):

(My favorite of the ones I dug:)

AND an 1802-1808 1st REGIMENT ARTILLERY BUTTON dug by Rodeo Now that's an early find for our area! :o Congratulations, Rodeo

We also went bottle digging to escape the winter blues, and I came up with a mid-1800s green champagne bottle

And a Dream find for me: An aqua blob top squat soda bottle marked "PHILO M. CLARK / LOUISVILLE KY" :o :o Clark opened his bottling works in the city in 1859 and sold it in 1863. So this is a nice Civil War years glass find. 8)

Cleaned up beautifully:

So that will catch us up on sharing finds. Stay tuned for more. :)
