Afternoon hunt 1937, 1945, 1951 wheats, 1946 Jefferson nickel. A first for me one of those holed tokens. A small lipstick tube, a beat up lead soldier, a very nice marble, a number 4 from a type set and some unknowns. An old cufflink rather large i found a few like that but much smaller. And the best find from this new area a 1870 shield nickel that was lost with very sharp details. GL and HH to all.

I have never dug one and I pride myself on finding nickels. Congratulations on my nemesis. She’s beautiful too!!

Thank you brother I also dig a lot of nickels, I’m sure a shield will cross ur path soon.

Now that's the Nickel everyone wants right there. Very nice high detail old Shield Nickel mate. Huge congrats on a seldom if ever dug old coin. Bucket List Supreme!
This is by far the best preserved shield nickel I ever found.

I love the shield nickel, :icon_thumright: Wish the ones in Ohio looked as nice as yours
I guess it depends on the soil, I found nice ones and toasted ones in the same area.
