If you can you should test the density. Divide the weight in grams by the volume in milliliters and you'll get the density in grams per cubic centimeter. It looks like Aluminum, but knowing the density could help verify.

if you have a small measuring cup or beaker, put a set amount of water in it and then drop your object in the water. However much it displaces is the volume of your object.
