shipwreck site findings...Any clue?

I found these diving with my son near a shipwreck....the ball we think is a gun shot, but not sure......and the black rock we have no clue, its kinda light weight....we scratched it and it turns into black powder, just like charcoil.....the withe stuff grew on it and it comes off if you scratch it..

It was probably cargo but iron does decompose into graphite in salt water with time.
