After reading all the legends, went gold panning, again, sigh, and didn't really see anything in the pan. However this time, I ran the black sands through a newly purchased gold spiral machine. That thing really works! Found these large flakes today, plus some dust or flour gold! Eureka! Gold rush is on. This is East Coast gold and it is very coarse.

Never tried this....It looks like a whole new hobby potential...someday..Have fun!

Very nice. That's not bad. The spiral machine looks like its working great.

As soon as I got home tonight, now several hours ago, I tried some dirt I had already discarded months and months ago. Dug it out of the flower bed, no joke, repanned it down to the black sand and now I have a gram and a half of small gold and a few small nuggets. I guess that means I missed more than I got the first go through. Doesn't say much for my panning skills.
