That is sort of what it felt like today. I decided to stay away from the spot where I found the SLQ this past weekend until tomorrow so Tom and I can go over it together, so the idea was to move around from place to place. Each and every spot I went to spit out a coin or two. I think almost two hours went by before I got the first, and kept thinking it wasn't going to be as productive a day, but once the ball rolled, it just kept on rolling. I started the day at around 9am, had four by 1:30ish pm, had eight by 3ish, and from that point, I was concentrating on getting one more to set a personal best (Over 8 ). I managed about three or four on video, so I'll be making one tonight. My only regret was not getting more of it on film.........Instead I ended up with lots of clad and junk getting caught on camera. I ended the day at 4:30 with a total of 11.
I wil say that the Explorer armed with an 8" coil seems far more productive than with the stock. I've been doing alot better since I got that coil a couple of months ago. Photos enclosed.

Sweet. You made a great haul. That's my best for a day - 11. And that was a long day.

What's the best merc of the bunch you found?

The 8" coil is great - I can detect much longer with it over the stock. Only thing I have found with it is I tend to get a little more falsing on that deep iron. You do loose a little depth but not much. I use the small coil about 50% of the time.

Hey Bob,
If I could see the dates clearly without a lens.........I'd check them all! :) It seems the only time I am able to make out the dates is when I take photos of them. When I hunt with Tom, he usually looks at them and makes out the date. I have noticed that in this years collection, there are some older dates. I believe I saw a '17 and several in the 20's. My eyes are not that bad..........but they could be better.
At first I would use the stock and 8" coil somewhat evenly. These past two months, I've only been using the 8" coil.

11 in one day, that is insane. Nice job. Any of the dimes key dates?

Ricardo, Hey thanks for allowing me(and everyone else on here) to try out your settings dude!!! Captn SE once told me to try using Conduct mode, but the areas that I have to hunt, I am having probs differentiating silvers form junk!! Thanks my friend and keep up the good work in the field!!!
