Did a quick after work hunt at my neighbor’s 1830’s farm today. Got a flat button, multiple penny’s, 1901 Barber and a 1846 Silver Dollar. They must have used the dollar on a necklace. I found my first silver coin on this same farm last year. Not bad for a short hunt.
I have been detecting for 17 years and have never found a silver dollar and I have found over 120,000 coins. Any silver dollar is a great find, but a SEATED DOLLAR is stupendous . Way to go, that is a great day. That farm is a great permission and might hold a lot of other nice surprises. Keep swingin and keep us posted.
Thought I would add some better pictures. Anyone have advice on cleaning it? I did give it a light toothpick cleaning. Would you leave it as is or try to clean it further?
