I only hunted one hr. needed to get out and be in the air... today I found a colgate cream deodorant ( tiny jar with lid) milk glass..made in jersey city,NJ... I think most likely this was made in the 50's.. the milkglass is in mint condition..weird thou... this is about the size of a small tub of lip gloss.. maybe a sample sized one..beats me. Then some shotgun shell casings... then a window doo hicky.... and I have soaking in rust remover some rusty crusty thingy..I am not sure what that is yet..will post pictures after I take it out of the rust remover... either way.. was great to get out... kinda suprised I havent found a coin yet there..but I will gladly settle for another civil war relic or revolutionairy war item.. ohhhhhhhhhhh yea.

Looks like you have a very interesting spot...remember the vdi's we were talking about... Obviously those are specifically for coin shooting, gold and silver recovery... The spot you are hunting looks like you should dig every signal...also with wrap around hit those negative numbers and let me know what you come up with. I am reading Foster's book now...just getting into it...stay positive..and you are going to hit something good! :)

Booty,
Very nice piece. I've read about people hiding coins inside of cold cream and other products like that. It's worth a look. ;)
Glad to see you got out,
Doug

I cleaned it up..opened the lid nothing..empty..but least the milk glass is in mint condition... and I like the swirls on it... although I am not sure on its age..just was guessing on it..lol so we'll see, hopefully some willknow more then me on this one ...learning history, ah ya gotta love it.

Neat finds, Rae. I do like the milk glass too...let's put it this way, they don't make jars like that now so you know it old. ;D It's a keeper to me...same with the old shotgun brass. Keep those finds coming. Can't wait to see the rusty, crusty thingie. The window doo hicky, is what they raised the windows with...one on each side. I'm pretty sure you knew that already. ::)

;) RR

Very nice finds ! interesting you havent found any coins yet :o maybe when you do find one it will be a very beautiful and very old coin ;D i'm wishing you luck on your next trip there on an old coin but congrats on your finds !!!!!! very nice ;)

Booty,
That is a tough one to find. I tried to Google "Colgate Cream Deodorant" and also looked on E-bay, but nothing.
Sounds like a job for Gypsy and PBK. ;)

Put the time in & the coins will come :)

Too bad there weren't any gold coins in the jar! Next time. HH, Mike

NEAT, Thanks Peter and Ron..that is super cool... it sure is the smallest deodorant container I have ever seen.. really I think you could only fit a few dimes in that one..but no coins...but thats ok..the milk glass is super cool with its swirls... I love it... soon as the rusty crusty thingy comes out of the rust remover, will post that too..

Gregg, you were right, I was in coin only mode... figured I would test that mode out... not bad so far..
