Hey guys, got out for a short hunt today. My brother suggested I hit a park he's detected before where he's found a silver ring and other things before. I was working all day and didn't get out til around 6:15 which gives me about an hour of light left before it gets too dark.

So I got to the park and didn't find anything expect for clad and endless amounts of pull tabs.

I got a signal about 3 inches deep that sounded like an average dime signal. In the hole was a tiny ring that fit about halfway down my pinky. It looked gold when I popped it up but I was skeptical because the signal didn't match. But then, I saw a marking on the inside and my hope increased!

I continued detecting for about 30 minutes before I left. When I got home, I cleaned the dirt off and saw some number markings on the inside. I'm gonna take it to the jeweler tomorrow to confirm but I'm 99% sure it's gold!

EDIT: jeweler says it's 24 karat gold!

As a Jeweler Goldsmith most of my life, with the pics and inside stamp of .999 I would concur that you have an 24K ring, the reason that not many rings are made in 24k is they are very soft and Ductile= Bend easy, so alloys are used to bring the toughness+hardness Up to make them more wearable and lessen the cost to make. The 24K rings are usually made in India , Paki, and the Orient. on the other hand I have seen rings out of Mexico that barely made 6K and Marked 8K, By Jeweleras standard if I was to mark a ring 24k, it had Better be 24K or I would be in deep do do with the jewelers Board of trade.

pretty awesome, I know that 24k will be very soft and easily bent. I am also pretty sure that it would wear or be worn thinner quicker from being so soft. Stoke City for sure, congrats
