Hi Everyone,
You may have read my last log post where I let everyone know we'll be on a half dollar CRH hiatus for a little while. I thought we were all finished, no more boxes, until one of my extra pickup banks called to let me know they finally received in the two boxes that they were expecting but never received last week. A couple bonus boxes, can't turn that down.
Picked 'em up on my lunch break, first box was a skunk. Flying through the second box, nothing nothing nothing until... one worn silver rim. I've seen this before, probably a Ben, maybe a Walker if lucky. Pulled it out and saw the reverse.
THAT'S an eagle I don't see very often. SEATED! Flipped it over and saw 1856, no mint mark on the reverse. An ultra-rare CRH score! Unfortunately, it obviously has a disgusting hole in it and has been pretty harshly cleaned. VF25-30 details I'd say. $85 coin easily, but unfortunately the condition probably cuts that in half (at least).
How's that for a sendoff before a hiatus!? Glad to join such an exclusive CRH club. Happy hunting everyone, see you in a few months!
