Hi all, not sure how to post this, but my partner and I give talks about
metal detecting to local groups of all kinds. We have given talks over
a period of several years now. This year we have given talks to a couple
of museums in the area and historical groups. We also have given talks
to churches, VFW'S, Libraries and so on. Just about anyone who needs
a speaker has called us. We enjoy giving the talks and usually find some
neat places to hunt.
The pictures I am attaching are from last week. We were asked to give a
talk about local finds at a new school site. They are going to build a sculpture
about items found in the area from the past.
My partner and I are shown along with the students for the class
in the pictures along with finds we found at the
school site. We had no idea the students would show so much interest in
the items we found on the very site that the school now sits on. The site
once housed 35 homes and they were torn down to make room for there
new High School. Several students from other classes came in to see our
display and hear our talk. At this site our club members dug 100's for bottles
and found over a thousand coins. Bill, who is pictures with me, found a Civil
War sword belt buckle. We still hunt the site and it is still giving up
great finds.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, we enjoyed showing and telling the class all
about the local history of the town they live in.
