I think I found all three at Quarry Hill Park detecting the woods.
The first one on the left is a 1948-D Lincoln cent, Middle 1976 Jefferson Nickel and 1963 Lincoln cent. Bullet Holes 005.webpBullet Holes 004.webpBullet Holes 003.webp

I almost bought a shield nickel with a .44 caliber colt revolver dent in it but passed it up. These are pretty cool.

My Dad always told me a story of an Uncle he had that was a trick shot. 60-70 years ago when my Dad was a kid, his Uncle would stop for a visit, and put on a show for the family. Dad claimed he could shoot a penny out of the air with a 22. I always figured he slipped some bird shot in his rifle, but I found proof of Dad's tales with my detector.

While hunting Dad's home place, I found what looked like a copper grommet, closer inspection showed it was a wheat penny with a hole shot through dead center. I found it years ago, while Dad was still alive, and it really tickled him. I'll post a pic if I can find it.

I shoot small washers, and put the bullet right through the hole. You can't even tell that the bullet went through.

I do have some cents that I shot with a .22 around here somewhere...

How about an 1847 Large Cent shot right through the wreath on the reverse.

I've found a couple...here's one I found this fall. 1906 Canada Large Cent...

Longhair that's a good one. Maybe shot with a musket ball while it was hanging around someones neck.

romeo-1 That's a good one. I looked at some on the internet and bullet holed coins can sell for $20 or more.

Very cool, I will have to get back to this one with a pic of my mexico coin (i think) that someone abused.
