Sign of Spring

Yes we have several in the yard also..They have a nice fragrance.I don’t know if we could do that here as they die off in the winter and come back in the Spring
Do they also die off in the Winter in your area
My winters are not as bad as yours. I do have some branches that die off and I'll remove them in the late fall. But the main stem survives and I always trim back the new offshoots that come back in the spring.

Sounds very nice it’s great to hear that the main stem survived.I saw the first large butterfly yesterday and it flew to one of the bushes.

Pepperj Thank You..it’s going to be cold tonight and hope there is no frost..Anymore I have to fence the nice trees as the bucks would snap that with their antlers or take a few bites. After trimming it back for many years I finally got it to bloom nicely.although I think they do better being sheltered among other trees
Put a tarp over the peas & beets last night, will do so again tonight. They're calling for 8 or so inches of snow here later this week!

Pepperj your camera is the best .
Thanks so so much..
Just playing with your photo Bill. Using the photo features on the phone.
I just wish I had one in my back yard.

I have a white currant, gooseberry, and black raspberry plant waiting to go in when the weather is warm enough, plus all the plants started for the garden.

I have two apple and one cherry tree on track to be shipped next spring out of an Ithaca grower - had to wait to get the varieties I want, including Northern Spy for the apple, me fav.

Very nice Congratulations on your beautiful assortment of plants and trees..
I never heard of a black raspberry that would be nice for me to also add to the blueberries here.

We have a white star magnolia also that is alot larger. We wait for it to flower every Spring and the blooms may last two weeks BF848BA6-7BA3-4509-858D-222A41FC93B6.webp

Thanks again for the pictures.
We love the beautiful flowers and shortly after overnight frost ruined all the flowers

I've never bothered with radishes really....usually my early plantings are peas and beets...beets because you can thin them and eat the greens. Ours are just poking through the ground.
You can grow radishes in containers if you want. The ubiquitous 5 gallon bucket works well!
