I'm the kinda guy who, when bored, asks questions regardless of how
silly they might sound...stuff like If you choked a smurf, what color
would they turn? If a man speaks in the forest, and there are no women
around, is he still wrong? That sorta thing... just now I found myself wondering...

Why are the majority, if not all, profiles on coins looking to the left?
Are there in fact coins minted (not misstrikes) where the profile looks
to the right?

What about the cent? Lincoln is in fact looking to the right is he not?
???

Very Good /question

Never thought about it till now LOL.............Good Question..........You /////////I guess maybe I kind of think like you do...!!
How bout this.
Coinage depicts,a leader,dictator,King, or Politician.........RIGHT ???
Why not face left ,and show your right side ?..........Give the impresion........Your on the RIGHT Side....? Or YOU are the RIGHT person for that POSITION ??
Well ......................am I RIGHT ???????????????????? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :icon_jokercolor: :icon_jokercolor: :icon_jokercolor:

Lincoln is looking to HIS left,as the post said. He was looking at his wife...Can't you see the pain in his face ???

British coins swap from left to right after every King or Queen (at least in the last few hundred years)

I think you would be pleasantly surprised to find it's been fairly even through the years here in the USA.

Some examples below... I added a three cent nickle and a half dime I think, but basically got most the other designs included from cent through quarter...

How would you classify the Sac Dollar? It has "two" faces looking over the right shoulder but facing left on the coin because the portrait is from behind...

Montana Elf I very much enjoyed your post. I collect coins and that's one nice picture. Now I'm wondering about government conpiracy, why the change in the same years???

Thanks!

But, in the spirit of full disclosure, I do NOT collect coins and took all
these pics from this site (scroll down):
