Was out with Dusty Miller, He found a 1916 Merc. dime and came over and said, "Look for the D, on the back".. No "D mintmark"...
I found a 1917 and 1918 Merc.'s and this match holder thing ?? It has a hinge on the lid.

Then, we went to another site and I found a 1916 Merc., now my turn to have him look at the back.... "No "D mintmark".....

Nice silver finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

I sure wish one of those 1916 coins had the D mint mark!

No 'D"
IMO At-least if you dug one from an old site you would have a better chance of it being 'the real deal'.

Silver score is always good , Hey I got a match safe very similar to your's not long ago.

? is To cherish such pieces or scrap them . Ill cherish for now. 'Talking about the match safe .....or common silver to I guess.
