So last night I had an hour, decided to try a harvested field. The stalks were too high and annoying. Just across the road and around the corner is my old pounded and empty (lol) spot. It was calling to me. It's pretty quiet, but I've found over 50 silvers there over the years and thought I'd go back yet again and leave the field behind. Well, my first and only target was this sweet little fishscale. It was basically vertical and pretty deep, the tiniest broken whisper of a signal. A couple of weeks ago a coworker got me permission at his friend's old family farm, nice! Actually three separate spots, one of which was his great grandfather's farm. The grass was high but I managed to find a silver quarter, and this silver plated pocket watch. I brought it home and cleaned it up. I messaged the guy and said it very well could have been lost by a family member, and I'd be glad to give it to him if he was interested. He was excited and very interested! I gave it to my coworker, and he gave it to the landowner at their church last Sunday. He told me I have unlimited permission to hunt all their land when ever I want. I'd say that is win/win.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538151873.154235.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538151894.759370.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538151912.570246.webp

The rest of the finds are a mix of stuff, much of which was found while my phone was smashed to smithereens, so no in situ pics. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538152032.460844.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538152060.383341.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1538152081.229498.webp

Only the fish scale came from “my spot”. Everything else was from other locations.

I think this fish scale makes silver coin #55 from “my spot”. I can go there ten times and find absolutely nothing, but once in a while something good pops out.

Oh sorry, just wanted to be clear. Yes, that spot has been unreal over the years. Found a Morgan, three Barber halves, and a nice mix of US/CAN silvers dating back to the 1880’s. I can’t seem to find another spot like that, but I’ll keep looking!

Thanks Dparson. Nice to find an even mix of US/Can coins around here. Keeps it exciting!

Nice looking "fishscale". I dug one of those an 1881, here in Connecticut and I've often wondered how it got here.
