Hello everyone, I'm looking for some help identifying an item my dad found while using his detector on an HHI beach. It was buried above the tide line. It's about eighteen inches and length, about four pounds and he believes it to be hollow. It looks to have some kind of thin metal sheeting covering it. It is odd in that it is not symmetrical in shape. Any ideas?

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina? Maybe a decoration from a resort that got lost in a hurricane?

I think it looks decorative too. Doesn't have any places to attach anything to hang it, though. My dad updated me saying it weighs 4.6 pounds and floats.

It may be a pinata that is full of gold coins or something. If it floats it has to have Styrofoam or something to hold that weight. But then if hollow wouldn't it be filled with something? Very interesting

Seriously though, I am leaning toward the cruise ship table decoration. Very cool find and story! Sub 8-)

Seriously...cut it in half. It is worthless whatever it is. Might as well cut in half and figure out where it came from and what it is. Embrace the dark side....
