Bullet ID needed

Hey guys, I dug these bullets tonight. The smaller bullet is new to me, never seen one like it before. It has a "U" on the bottom. Any idea what make and how old it is?

Th "U" is Union Metallic Cartridge Co....post 1885, when the impressed U began, I believe.
Caliber? Measurements would sure help, but it looks maybe like a .41 Short, a Derringer round. Just my guess.

If you want a positive answer, we need positive measurements in one hundreds or even one thousands of an inch. As an example, .357 is a .38.
