Just got back from 3 days of beach hunting in AC, Brigentine, Margate Beach and Long Beach Island New Jersey. Was out everyday a couple hours and pulled a lot of clad, 348 coins but AC was really the best. I was told many times that there is silver on the beaches in AC and just sort of shook it off. I pulled a Mercury dime, a couple of wheat pennys and a bunch of slag cookies that I have not broke open yet. Was hunting a mix of wet and dry sand. Since everything was coming out of the ocean it looks like the stuff they bring off ship wrecks. You know there is a coin in there but you just do not know what until you break off the crust. I was opening some of the cookies tonight and surprise a merc. I am hoping for more in the rest of these cookies. I still need to take pics. If you have a chance do not do what I did and shake off AC. There is really silver on those beaches.

Dont think I'll get out to that beach but I do think you need some pictures ;D

Sounds like a fun hunt.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Here are pictures of the 1929 mercury dime and the 1917 penny. There was a couple wheat pennies. I also include some slag pics. You have to open the slag gently as posible. The 17 penny and the dime came from these type cookies. The worn pennies were just in the sand. You can see the cookies sort of preserve the coins.

Nice finds.I will be in the area next month,I was gonna hit A.C. and the Cape May area beaches.

Just to let you know you will need beach tags to hunt cape may and you cannot hit the national park by the light house in cape may. Feds will haul you away. Cape May point is fine you do not even need tags. You just need to stop at the municiple center right outside the light house entrance to hunt cape may point. Cape may point starts right outside the national park. Make darn sure you know where the break is. AC you do not need beach tags. Now here is some insight on AC. Down in front of Bally's is a beach bar. That is a good area for beach hunting. Now if you want old stuff. Hit the beaches that are not public swimming beaches. What I mean is look for beaches wear there is not life guards and umbrellas. Like in front of Taj. I call that the cat beach. Really weird but homeless live under the boardwalk in the winter and they have cats. In the summer the homeless move to other areas but the cats stay. So there are about 80 cats that are around the beach. Around 9 am voluteers come to feed the cats. It is like feeding cattle. Cats come from everwhere. Showboat is the last casino to the north currently. There is a lot of beach between there and the inlet that is really good for old stuff. I pulled a couple silver spoons and old coins from there many trips.
