Went for an afternoon hunt today the rain storm we got last night hadn't even dampened the ground we could do with a full day of rain, any way hit the church field again it's a bit flatter now as the farmer been over it again. Managed three pieces of silver first cut half of King John(1199-1216)my second John, second a William111 shilling counter stamped very worn(1694-1702)last piece of silver is the largest looks like it might have come from a walking cane, couple of outher bits to show you lead gaming piece, lead pixie of a horse fitting or something and lastly spade gaming piece, enjoy the pictures. TK ,You guys across the pond have it made as far as detecting goes!! The history at your finger tips is amazing. I spent two weeks at Faiford AFB for a school . I had a local police officer stop and tell me of the treasure laws and he was a very nice person. I had a 1914 one penny that I had found and I showed it to him and he started laughing and said that I could keep all of those that I find. I think he was talking about stuff a little older.LOL We talked for a long time and he told me of some big finds that were made in the past. I did not have a whole lot of time there but it sure was fun. Fairford is a great little town and the pints flowed like water!! The people were fantastic. Love the silver thanks for sharing. :)

Good day. ;D

I had a bit of a harder day, will post soon.

Goldie....still having a few teething troubles :-\

Ah, try a few hours at home bench testing with your eyes closed, while someone else (Your Dad?) moves different objects over the coil, and you guess what they are. Saves a lot of digging in the field.

:D I can image it now

Yeah, I know, sounds boring, but it does work. Tomorrow I´m out again for a few hours with the GMP if my mates turn up.
Have fun (I´m degunging some iron in the Electrolysis bath at the moment. A head has allready appeared on what I though was a tractor steering ball joint).

Nice coins and gnome!

Congratulations!

In love iffy signals, I did them all. Sometimes they are romans.

Great finds Tire Kicker, that King John hammered is awesome. I just watched a documentary about King Richard the Lionheart last night, very interesting! Was hoping to see someone post something close to the era and you post his Brother's coin. Thanks for sharing and HH, Mike
