Hey everyone,
I had some family obligations today but thought I might be able to get out for a couple hours this morning if I hunted by headlamp. For those who don’t live this far North (Seattle is really far North, seriously, the majority of Canadians live in regions south of Seattle’s latitude) the sun doesn’t rise until 8 am this time of year. It seems even more delayed when it’s overcast as it has been lately.
I digress. First spot I hit had clearly been worked before. I didn’t get a high tone hit at deeper than 2 inches, all recent drops. At the very end of that site, I got a deep, choppy high tone at 6 inches and was pleasantly surprised to find a wheat penny and a mercury dime (1935) stuck together! I was especially pumped because between jewelry/cutlery and coins that’s my 100th silver object of the year. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be hitting 100 silver coins again like last year.
I moved on to one more spot and had quite a bit of luck there. My first hit there turned out to be a war nickel (43-S) I didn’t know that until I got home though because it was so crusty. I thought it might be a token. I could just barely see a little lettering on the edge. I think it has a crusty layer of asphalt on it.
I also got 9 more wheats (including a 26-S!) and my first Indian in a long while, a 1900. Also got a tax token to go along with an old key and clad.

Thank you for looking and Merry Christmas everyone!
