silver on the beach

Found this solid silver spoon at the mouth of the Cape Fear. It appears to have a commercial insignea on it saying N&W. Could this be frome a shiping line or something. I was about to start making a ring out of it when I cleaned it and saw the letters

Are you sure it's N&W..... Looks like it could be S&W......and are you sure that it's solid silver.... HMMMM....don't know... but I know you were proly excited when you found it!

Yea I'm pretty sure its solid because before I started to make it into a ring I cut it about 1/32" deep and its the same inside . No plate
