2012 has been good to me for Coinstar silver. Scored for my third time this year in a Kroger Coinstar machine. Pretty cool as all the banks are closed here on Sundays ??? -- Coinstar is my only hope for silver on Sundays. Checked the reject slot and found a nickel, a cent and a 1964 D Roosevelt! Nice!

Also dediced to take a picture of most of my 2012 finds to answer Baddbluff's complaint about the lack of silverporn. The bags are full of 40% (151), the nickels are all war nics, I put some of my 1964 Kennedy halves somewhere else, and was too lazy to go get them, so here are three of my 64s along with two Bens from this year -- no Walkers yet. The tubes are all silver dimes. Almost up to two rolls so far this year. Also in the tubes is my first ever Barber dime found this year!

Enjoy!

Happy Memorial Day to all you CRHers.

Nice collection!

That's some sexy silver you got there! Looks like you will have 2 Sabbaths this week... Hope Coinstar produces for you tomorrow!

Gotta love coinstar silver. I've only found 3 silver coins in coinstars, a 63 quarter and 2 rosies from the late 40s (the 2 rosies were found at the same time). Found the rosies one day and the quarter the very next day (at the same store!), and haven't found any silver in coinstars since. How many OZ total for you this year?

I'm just about at 30 Oz last time I calculated. Not bad, but I did score 36 Oz in one score last Fall. Will be hard to ever top that one. Got 500 silver Roosevelts in one day. Solid rolls of them. My best ever single score!

Nice! I started checking coinstars after reading about finds here but I've yet to find any coinstar silver, just some modern & foreign change now & then, however I found a 1929 wheat penny tonight in pretty good shape.

be sure to look all around the Cstar machine. I have found wheats on the ground, and silver deep in the reject slot.

Here's another hot tip. Take a few bucks worth of pennies (zincolns perhaps??) to the Cstar machine for processing ( eating the 9.8% fee) - but then use that as an excuse for the manager to open the machine for you. At that point, you grab everything you see, claiming it as your own.

Or, put your own little garbage bin, very small, with a nice liner and everything near the machine. Then just take the whole can anytime you want. No need to wax over the legality of stealing garbage. <-- havn't tried it yet. I very well may.

some pile right there, thanks for sharing!
