Silver pocket watch frame, ring & coins

Rehit a couple cellar holes in the park woods. Still some targets to discover before the foliage locks these sites up again til next winter.

Can anyone tell the maker or age from the 5 digits stamped on the watch frame?

Also, the fancy brass piece looks like a fancy door bell plate, any other ideas?

The Sterling stamped ring cleaned up pretty nice, I’m guessing 1910-1930’s.

And the stack of mini washers will make some of you laugh. These are the washers/backers for those brass rivets we often find at 1800’s farm sites, they ring up small, tight and like a silver dime. At least I cleared 18 of these in one hole…

The “door bell plate” might possibly be exactly that. I also wonder about a drawer pull. Some were in 2 pieces; the plate over the top of the pivoting handle. Kind of like a ball and socket set up. It allowed for style changes by switching parts at the factory. A one-piece pull required tooling changes to modify the style. With 2-piece, a different pull could be used with the plate and you had a whole new look without retooling.

That silver ring looks to have some serious age to it too.

Love the casting work on this piece... do you think it's an escutcheon plate or possibly from a mechanical door bell?

Thx Dave! The site where the brass plate came from had occupancy from 1910-1960. I’m thinking most likely a “twist” mechanical door bell front plate. From some Google searches it looks like these were often rather fancy cast brass. Always fun when something different pops out!

Interesting theory. I also found a couple pics online of heavy brass plates like mine with a single mount knocker hinge.
