Hello all,

I need help identifying a ring I found while hiking. I'm not quite sure of the composition, but I believe it's silver. The ring seems to be hand made. The small bumps on the surface are the same color as the ring and can be scratched off with a fingernail. The ring also appears to not be symettrical. There are no brand markings, identification marks, etc. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

From the pictures and your description it is junk, sort of looks like pot metal. JFYI blisters on silver can’t be scratched off with a fingernail.

I see. It seems to be pretty crudely made, so I thought it most likely was junk. I thought the bumps may have been silver chloride, as they don't seem to be a part of the original item. It comes off too easily though.

Thank you for the help! I was just curious.

Soak it on some vinegar for 2-3 hours and then rub it with some baking soda. Rinse/dry it off and see if there are any markings you may have missed.
